The role

Build the reading experience. Prerendered pages, sharp typography, dark-mode-first design, no bloat. React, Vite, Cloudflare Pages. You ship features that readers feel immediately.

What you will do

• Ship new features across the stack — article rendering, search, newsletters, dark mode
• Maintain the Vite + React + Cloudflare Pages deployment pipeline
• Optimize Core Web Vitals — LCP, CLS, bundle size, image formats
• Build reusable component patterns that scale to 80+ prerendered routes
• Collaborate with editorial on interactive features — data visualizations, embedded media

What you need

• 3+ years with React, TypeScript, and modern build tools
• You care about LCP, CLS, and bundle size the way chefs care about knife skills
• Experience with static site generation, SSR, or prerendering pipelines
• You have shipped something people use — a product, a tool, an open-source project
• Comfortable with CSS custom properties, SVG, and responsive design without frameworks

Nice to have

• Experience with Cloudflare Pages, Workers, or edge deployment
• Familiarity with SEO — JSON-LD, Open Graph, sitemap generation
• You have opinions about typography and dark-mode color systems
